Gebaut von: Hans Hantelmann (1729)
Destroyed (1945)

  • In 1728-1729 Hans Hantelmann built a large organ with an impressive front for the Stadtkirche in Alt Strelitz. Church and organ were inaugurated on January 1, 1730. The original disposition is unknown, but a note from 1842 is present in the Landeskirchliches Archiv in Schwerin.
  • The interior of Hantelmann was to be replaced in 1842 by a new organ by Ernst Sauer, but this did not happen. After this year, the instrument increasingly fell into disrepair. In 1905 Barnim Grüneberg built a new organ for the church. It is possible that some registers were taken from the old organ. The organ case was preserved, but the original front pipes from 1729 had to be handed in in 1917.
  • At the end of the Second World War, the church completely burned out. As a result, the organ has been permanently lost.
