The oldes pipe organ in Charleston, South Carolina, is an instrument by Thomas Appleton dating from 1838. It was installed in 1966 in a chapel of Saint Philip's Episcopal Church. It was relocated from the Seamen's Home Chapel. But the original location had been the chapel of the Orphans House in Charleston, where it resided until 1920.
