The building of the Pestalozzi-Gymnasium in München opened on December 3rd, 1908. It was in use by the Königliche Kreislehrerinnenbildungsanstalt until 1935, and by the Hanns-Schemm-Aufbauschule from 1935 till 1943. The building was damaged during the war, but could be restored. In 1952 a Gymnasium was founded in the premises. The current name, Pestalozzi-Gymnasium, is in use since May 1965. Gerhard Schmid installed a two-manual pipe organ in 1984.
