  • The organ in the Münsterkirche in Einbeck is a large two-manual instrument with a new-gothic prospect. This dates from 1865-1866, when Carl Giesecke built a new organ for the church with three manuals and 42 stops. The instrument had mechanical action and cone chests. It was constructed because of the renovation of the church interior in the new gothic style. The previous organ, built in 1732 by Christian Vater and radically rebuilt in 1844, was dismantled, but a lot of the pipework had been re-used by Giesecke. The action of the Giesecke organ was replaced by electro-pneumatics in 1934 by Faber & Söhne.
  • Because there were many problems with the construction of 1934, the organ had been rebuilt in 1984 by the company Walcker. They constructed a new hybrid organ with 26 real stops and 37 electronic stops, in co-operation with Ahlborn. The console was located on the church floor. The prospect pipes - that were not speaking until then, were replaced by new speaking pipes.
  • But because this instrument was not satisfying, very soon the decision was made to have a new organ built in the Giesecke case. This new instrument was built by Hillebrand Orgelbau and completed in 2008. It has two manuals and pedal and 37 stops. Harald Vogel was consultant during the work. The specification was inspired by the work of Giesecke. The organ was dedicated on June 1st, 2008.
