The Sankt Nicolai-Kirche in Dortmund is an Evangelical Church, dedicated in 1930. Paul Faust installed an organ in this church in the same year with three manuals and 27 stops. It was intended to add another nine stops to this instrument by design. However, in 1960 it was replace by a completely new organ by Walcker with 35 stops. When this organ was dedicated the Schwellwerk was not installed at all, and six other stops were prepared for. In 1966 the Pedal Prinzipalbass 16' was installed, and five stops in 1975-1976. The Schwellwerk was finally installed in 1980, when the instrument was completed.

The Schwellwerk was finally installed in 1980, when the instrument was completed.
