- Saint John's Church in Young, New South Wales, was built in 1865 and enlarged in 1893 with transepts and a choir. The original church - being the nave now - was replaced by a new building in 1914. The firm of Hardy & Son built the first pipe organ in 1898. This organ had fourteen stops and was rebuilt by Fincham & Son in 1925. In 1975 the instrument was completely rebuilt with new electric action by Geoffrey Kendall. The result of the rebuild was not satisfying and there was also danger that the platform where the organ was installed would break down. Therefore the organ was demolished in 1979.
- The current organ was acquired in 1979 from the German Lutheran Church in Sydney, where a new organ was installed by Karl Schuke. The old organ was built by Charles Richardson in 1893-1894, and renewed by S.T. Noad in 1968. The firm of Brown & Arkley installed the organ in Young after a restoration. They added a Trumpet to Swell, which had been prepared for since 1893.
