1907 Charles Richardson  reconstruction

The Roman Catholic Church of Saint Mary in Mudgee was built in three phases in 1857, 1873 and at last in 1911 with the completion of the church tower. The organ was installed in 1907 by Charles Richardson. The history of the instrument is typical. It was built in 1866 by J.W. Walker for Saint Jude's Anglican Church in Randwick, having one manual with seven stops. But in 1904 Charles Richardson built a new larger organ for this church using the pipes from Walker. The remains of the Walker organ were transfered to Mudgee. Richardson renewed all the pipework and installed the instrument in 1907 in the church. He extended the instrument with a tremulant and a new keyboard.
