- Thomas Rowe designed the new church for the Wesleyan Methodists in Bathurst. It was completed in 1860 and is located on William Street, just next to the old chapel from 1837, that is also still standing on the location. The pipe organ in the church was dedicated on March 13, 1874, and was built by William Davidson. In 1887 he enlarged the instrument with some new stops and a free pedal with pneumatic action. Not long after 1887 the organ was relocated to the apse of the church, where it still stands.
- In 1919 a renovation was carried out by John B. Holroyd, who renewed the pneumatic action of the pedal organ and manufactured new knobs for the stops. Later changes were the removal of a rank of the Mixture on Great (not known when or by whom) and the addition of a Tremulant by S.T. Noad in the fifties.
- Roger H. Pogson restored the organ completely in 1990-1991 und supervision of Kelvin Hastie. The organ could be re-opened on October 20, 1991 with a concert by Christopher (organ) and Bridger (cello) Dearnley.
