Tangen Kirke was built in 1850-1854. The church was opened on January 25, 1854. In 1934, the firm J.H. Jørgensen installed a new organ in the church, which was rebuilt and modified in 1952. This instrument was demolished in 2019, to be replaced by a completely new instrument, built by the firm Van Vulpen in a romantic style. The organ was completed in the summer of 2020. The old organ has been removed by Van Vulpen. Some stops have been taken over for the new organ, the rest was donated to a church in Madagascar.
