  • The Johanneskirche in Bremerhaven-Speckenbüttel was inaugurated in 1936. The Hammer firm placed a small positive in the church. Under the advice of Hans-Christian Drömann, the current main organ was built in the following years. It was put into service on July 10, 1939. The disposition is inspired by the Orgelbewegung. The action is mechanical. Shortly after the Second World War, the organ was repaired and expanded with a Rankett-Dulcian 16' on the Hauptwerk at the request of the organist, Helmut Lenhart.
  • In 1965 the organ was moved to a new gallery on the west side of the church by Emil Hammer. The pedal was expanded with a Gedackt 8'. The former Oberwerk was placed as Rückpositiv. The instrument was restored by Michael Becker in 1997-1998. Several new stops were placed: Prinzipal 8', Oktave 4', Flöte 2' and Dulcian 8' on the Hauptwerk, and a Quinte 1 1/3' on the Rückpositiv. The Zimbel and the Quintade 4' were removed. A manual coupler was also installed. On May 31, 1998, the organ was put back into use.
  • A last renovation was carried out in 2011 by Kurt Quathamer. He replaced the Traversflöte 4' with a Quinte 2 2/3', and split the Sesquialter into two separate stops. For this, the Sifflöte 1' was removed. The Gedackt 8' and Krummhorn of the Rückpositiv were renewed. The work was completed with a concert on September 21, 2011.
