- According to a 1965 publication by Gaby Moortgat, Joseph Bader built an organ for the Sint Amanduskerk in Sint-Amands around 1720. The organ case was made by Bader with wood carvings by Adriaan Neys. In 1728-1729, Pieter Bader expanded the organ. The book assumes that the middle part of the current organ dates back to 1720. But this reading is incorrect. In 1849 a new organ was built by Jean Corneille Charles Delhaye. This organ was lost in 1914. The tower of the church caught fire due to acts of war, and the organ was heavily damaged.
- After rebuilding the church, a new organ was built by Jos. Stevens in 1926-1927. The instrument was dedicated on March 27, 1927, followed by a concert by Flor Peeters, with two works played by the church organist, M.L. Van Kerkhoven. The two angels and the smaller figurines on the organ case are old, and date back to the organ case from 1729.
- Due to a fire in the tower on April 26, 1982, the organ was damaged by fire extinguishing water. It has since been out of use. The console has been removed, and an electronic organ has been placed in this place.
