Region:Wallonie
Adresse: Rue Saint-Hubert, 4860, Wegnez

Beschreibung nr.: 2051432.

Gebaut von: Maurice Delmotte (1964)

The organ in the church of Wegnez is a unit organ with three ranks of pipes (Prestant, Flûte Bouchée and Trompette), built by Maurice Delmotte in 1964. The entire organ is enclosed in a swell box, with fake wooden pipes as a prospect. A part of the pipework was taken over from the previous organ of the church. This instrument was installed in 1804, and was acquired from the Couvent des Dominicaines in Theux. This organ had ten stops, and it was either constructed by Matthieu Graindorge in 1778 or by Johann Theodor Gilmann in 1786. It is uncertain what the condition of this historic organ was in 1964, but it is sad that it has been replaced by a simple unit organ at the time.
