  • Duke August von Sachsen-Merseburg resided at Zörbig Castle from 1692 to 1715. He had a chapel built here, which was consecrated on January 23, 1710. An organ, a pulpit and an altar were placed in this chapel, among other things. His daughter Karoline Auguste continued to live in the castle until her death on September 23, 1747. After a last service on November 12, 1747, the chapel was closed and then demolished. Magister Baumlinger, court chaplain, left for the parish of Sandersdorf in 1749. In 1750 altar, pulpit and organ from Zörbig were bought here, after which they were placed in the old village church of Sandersdorf.
  • In 1896 Wilhelm Rühlmann delivered a new organ for the church of Sandersdorf. The old intrument was taken in by him. What happened to it after that is unknown. Altar and pulpit are still present in Sandersdorf. It has been written about the organ case that it was a beautiful case, with beautiful carvings, and provided with two coats of arms as a crown, with the arms of Saxony and Mecklenburg.
