In 1885, the Casavant company built a new organ for the cathedral of Saint-Hyacinthe as opus 8. It was a three-manual organ with 38 stops. In 1911-1912 it was converted and expanded by the same company. After a major restoration in 2006-2007, it was inaugurated on June 3, 2007 with a concert by Philippe Bélanger.
