Igls was a village in Tyrol, which has been part of the city of Innsbruck since 1942. The village's old parish church, dedicated to Sankt Ägidius, dates from the thirteenth century and was decorated in Baroque style in the eighteenth century. The church was severely damaged by a fire in 1883. The organ survived the fire. It was built in 1849 by Franz Reinisch. It originally had one manual. In 1963 the organ was restored by Reinisch-Pirchner and expanded with a second keyboard.
