- In 1864 an Evangelical Church was built in Hohenzell near Schlüchtern in new-Gothic style. It was the first church building in the village. August Ratzmann installed an organ for the church in 1866.
- In 1951 the organ was rebuilt and modernized by Willi Peter. Ernst Karl Rößler was the consultant for these activities. The upper manual was completely provided with new stops, while three stops were replaced on the main work and one on the pedal. In 1967 the same firm carried out another rebuilt, again under consultancy of Ernst Karl Rößler. The Oktave 4'of the main work was renewed. On the upper manual, two stops from 1951 were replaced by others.
