In 1753, the French organ maker Robert Richard built an organ for Québec Cathedral. It was a ten-stop organ with an attached pedal. It was delivered in October 1753. The organ only existed for a short time, because it was lost due to a fire in July 1759. In 2008-2009 the organ was reconstructed by the firm Juget-Sinclair on the basis of preserved documentation. Consultants were Antoine Bouchard and Kenneth Gilbert. The organ is placed in the chapel of the Musée de l'Amérique Française, housed in a former seminary. On October 4, 2009 the organ was inaugurated with a concert by Michel Bouvard.
