The beautiful organ in the church, a work by Christian Friedrich Göthel, has been lost. Built from 1843-1845, this organ was Göthel's largest instrument, with 34 stops. It had been dedicated on August 3rd, 1845, on the same day as the new church was consecrated. The instrument was examined by Johann Friedrich Schneider, organist of the Hofkirche in Dresden.
