Gebaut von: Julien Tribuot (1702)
The organ in the cathedral of Chalon-sur-Saône was built in 1702 by Julien Tribut. The instrument was radically rebuilt in 1750 by the Riepp brothers. In 1819 it was disassembled and stored. After a major renovation of the church, the instrument was reinstalled again in 1846 by Félix Danjou. The case of the Positif was rebuilt, but the contents were placed in the main case. In 1956 the Merklin & Kuhn company restored the organ, increasing the pedal compass. The current situation dates back to 1970, when Robert Boisseau carried out a partial reconstruction, which included restoring the Positif de Dos.
