  • In 1854, brothers Elias and George Hook built a three-manual organ for the State Street Congregational Church in Portland, Maine in the United States of America. In 1892 it was moved to the United Methodist Church in Westbrook, after the construction of a new church in Portland that also had a new organ. In 1984 David Wallace carried out a restoration.
  • After the church in Westbrook closed in 2004, the organ was dismantled and stored by Wallace. It was then purchased in 2009 for the Church of Our Lady in Boom in Belgium. It was restored and rebuilt in Boom by the Pels-d'Hondt company. On May 30, 2010, the instrument was inaugurated with a concert by Petet Van de Velde, organist of the Cathedral in Antwerp. The concert was also participated in by Evelien Schelkens (violin) and Matthias Schelkens (cello) and the Mixed Choir Musica Nova conducted by Paul Dinneweth.
  • It is remarkable that the division of some ranks is placed between E minor and F minor, and in others between B major and C minor. The registers of the Swell Organ all run from C minor (TC). The major octave of the Swell Organ is permanently coupled to the major octave of the Choir Organ.
