- In the years 1747-1750 Johann Conrad Speisegger built a new organ for the church of the Cordeliers in Friborg. In 1815 Aloys Mooser overhauled the organ, and in 1865 it was modified by Johann Haller and Johann Mauracher. It was completely converted into a pneumatic romantic organ in 1914 by Friedrich Goll. The back positive remained empty.
- Goll's organ was dismantled in 1968. The Walcker firm was commissioned to build a new organ in the old cases, using some Speisegger pipes still present, including the front pipes of the positive. Due to the restoration of the church building, it took a long time before the project could be started. In 1985 the plan was changed to a reconstruction of the original instrument. In 1999, the organ was not yet completed when Walcker went bankrupt. The work was then continued by Ferdinand Stemmer, and in 2002 the organ could be used.
