The organ of the Sankt Martinskirche in Altdorf in Uri dates back to an instrument by Karl Josef Maria Bossart from 1772. Only parts of the organ case of this organ have survived. A new organ gallery was built in 1802-1803, after which the organ was rebuilt in the years 1806-1809 by the Carlen brothers. In 1904 and 1914 the organ was worked on by the company Goll. The disposition was modernized. The current situation dates from 1972, when the company Cäcilia Orgelbau (A. Frey) rebuilt the organ as a three-manual organ with fifty stops.
