Sobremonte, Argentina (Córdoba) - Museum Marqués

Description no.: 2026655.

Bâti par: Builder unknown (18e eeuw)

One of Argentina's oldest organs is in the Museum Marqués in Sobremonte. It is probably an eighteenth century organ, the maker of which is unknown. Its provenance is also unclear, but it is possible that it was originally built for the Monasterio de las Monjas Teresas, a monastery located nearby. 1820 is also regarded as a construction year in this context. The organ has a manual with four stops and a pedal keyboard with twelve keys (C-B). The pedal is permanently linked to the manual, but also has two independent stops, which are permanently switched on. These unnamed stops are 8' and 4' wooden flutes. The pedal was added later, the pipework of the pedal is placed behind the organ case.
