  • The City Temple meetinghouse, Holborn Viaduct in London was destroyed by bombing in April 1941. During rebuilding the church, the Walker company was commissioned to build a large organ. It was dedicated in 1958. The organ has a romantic stop list, that is not common use for its construction period. This was designed by William McKie, organist of Westminster Abbey, and the church's organist Eric Thiman. The rebuilding of the church and the construction of the organ were paid for by John D. Rockefeller, Jr.
  • The church building will be renovated in 2024-2025. The organ has therefore been offered for sale. It was purchased by Saint James' Episcopal Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois. It is being renovated and erected in the church by Buzard Pipe Organ Builders. It will be expanded with a modern combination system. It will be placed behind the historic Johnson & Son front from 1875, which is located in the cathedral. The organ is expected to be put into use in 2025.
