Op 20 februari 1847 nam men in de kerk van Saint Martin, Ludgate in London, gelegen vlakbij Saint Paul's Cathedral, een nieuw orgel in gebruik, gebouwd door Theodore Bates. Het orgel is in 1906 door de firma Lewis gerenoveerd. Zij maakten een nieuwe windlade voor Swell, wijzigden de Dulciana 16' in een Dulciana 8' en plaatsten een nieuwe Oboe. Op Great werd het groot octaaf van de Dulciana 8' toegevoegd. De firma Mander voerde in 1956 en in 1981 revisies uit.
