Tijdens de bouw van de nieuwe kapel van Manchester College in de jaren 1891-1893 bouwde Gray & Davison een orgel voor de kapel met twee manualen en pedaal. De decoratie front is ontworpen door Willam Morris, de architect die meerdere interieurstukken voor de kapel ontwierp. In 1930 breidde Nicholson het orgel uit met een derde manuaal. Hiertoe werden verschillende stemmen verschoven en nieuwe toegevoegd. In 1972 plaaatste Nicholson een nieuwe vrijstaande speeltafel. De dispositie is daarbij licht gewijzigd.
