  • The main organ of Slaka Kyrka is one of the few instruments by Pehr Schiörlin that has largely been preserved. It was built in the years 1781-1783. Johan Miklin, cathedral organist in Linköping, inspected the organ in 1783. The instrument had one manual and attached pedal.
  • A first change was made in 1858. Anders Kullbom repaired the organ and replaced the Scharf with a Borduna 16' and a Fleut d'Amour 8'. In 1890 Nils Fredrik Hultgren expanded the organ with a Violoncell 8' and an open Fugara 8'.
  • However, the organ could not escape the urge for modernization and the pneumatic fashion of the years between 1900 and 1940. Nils Hammarberg completely rebuilt it in 1938. Fortunately, the old slider chest was preserved, but was fitted with pneumatic action. Hammarberg installed a second manual and a larger pedal with cone chests. In addition to the front pipes, six more Schiörlin stops were adopted in its entirety. Lucky enough, most of the removed material was stored and thus preserved.
  • In the years 2003-2004, Bergenblad & Jonsson reconstructed the organ to its original state, using the material still present and stored. Consultant at the work was R. Axel Unnerbäck. An independent pedal was built, where the Borduna from 1858 was given a place. The missing pipework was made new on the basis of examples. The organ was tuned to a Neidhardt temperature at a pitch of a'=464 Hz.
