Year | Builder | Opus | Activity | 1900 | Friedrich Becker | new organ | 1921 | Gebrüder Dinse | maintenance/reparations | 1934 | E.F. Walcker & Cie. | 2450 | new organ in old case | 1998 | Wilhelm Sauer Orgelbau | restoration |
- The Verklärungskirche in Berlin was dedicated on November 17, 1900. A pipe organ was installed by Friedrich Becker, organ builder in Hannover, that was dedicated on the same day. There were many problems with this organ, the action was malfunctioning. In 1921 the organ was repaired by Dinse. In 1933 the instrument was in such a bad condition, that it could no longer be played.
- In 1934 the instrument was rebuilt by the company Walcker & Cie. In fact they built a new organ, using the prospect and parts of the pipework of Becker. On December 16, 1934, the instrument was inaugurated.
- On the console it can be seen that there are three empty places on the first manual, and two on the second. On the first manual a 4-feet stop has been replaced by a Terz, and on the second manual the stops Quinte 1 1/3' and Scharff 2-3 fach were installed later. The organ was restored in 1998 by the Sauer company. On November 1st, 1998. it was taken into use again.
