The old village of Otzenrath was evacuated in 1999 and subsequently demolished in connection with the expansion of the Garzweiler II lignite mine. A new village Otzenrath-Neu was built. The old churches have been demolished. A new church was built in the new village. The Seifert company supplied an organ, which was taken into use on October 28, 2006 with a playing by Wilhelm Junker. The second manual has no registers of its own, but shares a number of ranks with the first manual by means of switch drags.
