- The oldest playable organ in Oberfranken is the instrument in the Wallfahrtskirche in Scheßlitz-Gügel, also known as the Gügelkirche. The organ is attributed by Rohlf Orgelbau to to Andreas Schöpf, and dated 1708. However, in 1985 Hermann Fischer and Theodoor Wohnhaas dated the organ to the seventeenth century with an unknown builder.
- The instrument was restored in 1964-1965 by Walcker. They renewed a large part of the Quinte 1 1/3' and installed a new Subbass on the pedal. In 2015-2016 the organ was restored by Rohlf Orgelbau under supervision of Markus Willinger. The Gedact 8' was replaced by another one, built by Walcker in 1906 for an organ in Bad Nauheim. Only the lowest pipes (C and Cis) were newly made. All the other ranks were restored and when necessary pipes were replaced with new ones. The Pedal was enlarged with a new Violonbaß and the lowest eight pipes (C-G) of the Subbaß were renewed. On June 5th, 2016, the organ was inaugurated with a concert by Markus Willinger.
