- On February 5, 1893, a new organ was built in the Michaeliskirche in Limbach (Sachsen) by Gottfried Hildebrand from Leipzig. It replaced an organ by Johann Christian Faust from 1754. In 1917 the prospect pipes were removed. These were later replaced by new ones of zinc.
- In 1978, Harmut Schüßler was commissioned for a renovation, in which eight stops had to be replaced and two modified. However, this assignment was not carried out due to the restoration of the church building. As a result, the organ has been fully preserved in its original state. In 1996 and 1997 it was thoroughly restored by the firm Jacoby from Kassel. On October 19, 1997, it was put back into use with a concert by the Polish organist Tomasz Nowak.
