Dieter Nöske built a new organ for the Stiftskirche in Kaufungen in 1974. Construction consultant was Johannes Rammig. The organ was modified by Nöske in 1980. At the Hauptwerk he placed a Spitzflöte 8'. The Koppelflöte 8' moved to the Schwellwerk. This work was modificated drastically: the old 'Seiten-Brustwerk' expired and was replaced by a real Schwellwerk, with a French-romantic character. On the pedal, the Baßsesquialtera was replaced by a Kontrabaß 32'. In 2000 the organ was revised again by Noeske.
