The church of Saint Amandus in Sint-Amandsberg (or Mont-Saint-Amand) was built in 1846-1847. Petrus Johannes Vereecken installed a new pipe organ in 1881. After an enlargement of the church in 1932-1938, the organ was also rebuilt and enlarged by Jos. Loncke & Zn. On November 13, 1938 the instrument was dedicated. It was the first work where Gerard Loncke was involved. Flor Peeters played the inauguration concert.
