1850 Anselm Roschmann  conversion
1935 Max Dreher  conversion
2016 Hermann Weber  reconstruction

  • In 1609 Marx Günzer supplied an organ for the Barfüßerkirche in Augsburg. The organ was transferred to Gabelbach in 1758 by Johann Andreas Stein. Stein placed a Salicional 8' on the manual. In 1850 the organ was modified by Roschmann.
  • Much more radical was the 1935 renovation by Max Dreher. He extended the organ with a second manual on a cone chest. The pedal chest was also replaced by a cone chest, and the compass of the pedal board was increased by an octave. The old windchest of the Hauptwerk was preserved, but was enlarged from f''' to g'''. On the pedal, Dreher replaced the Posaune 8' with a Choralbaß. The organ got a new freestanding console with pneumatic action.
  • In 2006 Hermann Weber started a thorough restoration, rather a reconstruction of the old organ. It has been completely restored to its original condition. This work was finished in 2016.
