- In 1848 William Hill built a new organ for the Church Saint Mary at Hill in London. Consultant was J.F. Burrowes, organist of the church. The organ had two manuals and an independent pedal, and caused a sensation at the time because of the full compass pedal keyboard and the manual range of 54 keys from C to f'''. It was given a classical English organ case with four towers. In 1879-1880 Thomas Hill expanded the organ with a third manual, a Choir Organ, which was placed outside the case. The Choir Organ was adapted in Baroque style by Hill, Norman & Beard in 1971, while the rest of the organ was left virtually untouched.
- On May 10, 1988, a fire broke out in the church building. Most of the roof burned away and the organ was severely damaged. Large parts were subsequently stored. In 2000, the Mander company started rebuilding the instrument. It was decided to carry out a reconstruction of the original concept from 1848. The organ was put back into use in 2002.
