- In 1958 Alfred Führer completed a new organ in the Sankt Ansgarii-Kirche in Bremen. It was placed behind the historic prospect of Marten de Mare from 1611. This instrument was expanded in 1737 with pedal towers by Rainer Caspary. The old church was almost completely destroyed in the Second World War, but the organ case largely survived the bombing. Advisors in the construction of the new organ were Richard Liesche and Michael Schneider.
- In 1961, 1966, 1976 and 1994 the stoplist has been modified and expanded (always by Führer Orgelbau). In the latter year a general restoration and re-intonation took place.
