  • A special organ by the organ makers Flaes & Brünjes is located in the synagogue in Willemstad. This synagogue was built in the years 1730-1732. The organ was completed in 1866 and was inaugurated on October 25, 1866. During the construction of the organ, the makers took into account the placement in a tropical climate when choosing the materials.
  • The synagogue was originally the Mikve Israel Synagogue. In 1964, the community merged with the Emanu-El Synagogue, which was located in Otrobanda. In this synagogue there was an organ from Merklin & Schütze, which was demolished. The current manual of the Flaes & Brünjes organ is said to come from this organ.
  • Over time, the organ went into bad condition. A temporary 'restoration' in 1973 didn't make it better. An electronic organ was used in the synagogue for a number of years. In the years 2002/2003 the organ was finally restored by De Graaf and Elbertse under consultancy of Rudi van Straten. The organ was put back into use on May 4, 2003.
