- The Weigle firm built a new organ for the Sankt Stephankirche in Würzburg in the years 1983-1985. The instrument is designed as a three-manual organ with 53 stops. In 1985 it was provisionally delivered with two manuals and pedal. The Schwellwerk was completely reserved. Fifteen register buttons are reserved, but no names are written on them. Two stops were missing on the Hauptwerk (presumably a Kornett and a 4-foot reed) and one on the pedal (presumably an 8-foot reed).
- In 2008/2009 there were plans for a renovation of the organ and for placing the reserved stops. The works eventually started in 2014. They are carried out by the company Rensch Orgelbau. The Schwellwerk with fifteen stops has been installed by them. A Zimbel 3 fach was placed on the Hauptwerk, and an Untersatz 32' on the pedal, while the Oktave 2' has been removed from the pedal.
