In 1958, Johannes Klais built a three-manual organ for the Sankt Michaelkirche in Würzburg. In 1996, a restoration has been carried out by the same company. The stop list was modified at this occasion. The Schwellwerk was rebuilt in a more romantic style. The Nasard 2 2/3' of the Schwellwerk was relocated to the Rückpositv, on the location of the Larigot 1 1/3'. The Acuta of the Schwellwerk was altered to a Cymbel, and also installed on the Rückpositiv. The Rankett 16' of this work was replaced with a new Krummhorn 8'. The Trompete of the Hauptwerk was renewed, and on the pedal the Nachthorn 2' was replaced with a Trompete 8'.
