The organ of the Stadtkirche in Homberg an der Efze was originally constructed by Johann Friedrich Schäf(f)er, around 1730. The carving on the organ case was made by Josef Dietrich Göhring. In 1951 Emil Hammer carried out a restoration. However, the interior had already been extensively renovated. In 1966-1967, the Werner Bosch company built a new three-manual organ with 33 stops in the old cases. The historic pipework that was still present has been reused. In 1988 the organ was restored and modified by Dieter Noeske. The voicing has also been revised on this occasion.
