The organ in the Church of Saint Michael at Playden was built in 1846 by James Eagles, organ builder in London, for the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in Rye. It moved to Playden in 1904. Henry Speechly rebuilt the organ in 1925 and added a free pedal. The instrument was restored in 1972 by Hill, Norman & Beard, without making any changes.
