Gemeinde: Wolfegg
Region:Württemberg
Adresse: Chorherrengasse 2, 88364, Wolfegg
Beschreibung nr.: 2004871.
Gebaut von: Jakob Höhr (1736)
The great organ of the Stifts- en Schloßkirche in Wolfegg was built in 1736 by Jakob Höhr from Ochsenhausen. The original specification of the organ is not exactly known. Despite some minor renovations, the organ was still largely original when the Reiser company converted it in 1932/1933. The organ was given pneumatic cone chests at the time, a swellbox and a more romantic stop list. Nine registers by Höhr have been preserved in their entirety, parts of other registers are still present. In the years 1981 and 1984, the Kuhn company supplied reeds for Hauptwerk and Pedal, which were still not installed. Plans have been made several times for a reconstruction of Höhr's work. These plans were finally carried out in 2007-2008 by Hermann Weber. On Sunday 3 August 2008, the organ was inaugurated again.
