At the end of the nineteenth century, Charles Anneessens built an organ for Auxerre Cathedral in a neo-Gothic organ case. This organ was rebuilt in 1952 by the Gutschenritter company. It was demolished in 1979, after which Dominique Oberthur built a completely new organ. This new organ was completed in 1986. It was dedicated on October 31, 1986. In 2005 it was damaged by a hurricane. The organ was restored in the years 2011-2012.
