In the summer of 1967, Flentrop completed a new organ for the First Unitarian Church in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The previous organ of the church, built by Hutchings-Votey in 1907 with 55 ranks, was put for sale in March 1966. Donald Willing played the inauguration concert of the Flentrop organ.
