  • In 1767, Ignaz Gatto completed a beautiful baroque organ for the monastery church in Lilienfeld. The instrument had 24 stops. In 1810 it was badly damaged by a fire. Max Zachistal built a romantic organ in the old cases in 1885. This instrument was rebuilt and enlarged by the firm Gebr. Mauracher as an electro-pneumatic organ with three manuals. The organ would first get 48 stops, but later the plans were changed to even 61, but it was never completed.
  • Because the instrument had many malfunctions, it was decided to order a new mechanical organ, manufactured by Hradetzky. Consultants were ir. Egon Kraus on behalf of the Austrian monument service and dr. Hans Haselböck. The instrument was inaugurated with a concert by Hans Haselböck on June 16, 1963. The organ was built with vertical slides in the wind chests. Partly because of this, but also due to other technical problems, a restoration was needed quickly. The Kögler company carried out this revision in the years 1983-1985. The Bombarde 32' was removed. Some new wind chests were made. The organ was put back into use on November 24, 1985. Walcker-Mayer carried out maintenance works in 2001. They renewed the keyboard and the couplers and installed a new coupler Pedal-Oberwerk.
