  • The main organ in the monastery church in Muri dates from 1630. The instrument had wing doors, which were removed in 1697 when the organ was moved. In 1743/1744 it was modified and expanded by Joseph Bossart, together with his son Victor Ferdinand. At the same time Bossart built two choir organs (Lettner-Orgeln) for the church. Since 1841, the church is no longer a monastery church, but a parish church.
  • The large organ has been extensively rebuilt over time. The old positive was relocated in 1834 by Konrad Bloch as a kind of crown positive above the organ. The old balustrade was removed. In 1919 the interior was demolished and the company Goll built a new pneumatic organ in the historic cases. A small part of the old pipework was reused, but spread over the organ. The old prospect pipes remained silent.
  • Under consultancy of Bernhard Edskes, the organ was reconstructed in the years 1965-1970 to the condition of 1744 by the company Metzler. On October 25, 1970, the organ was put back into use. In 2006, the bellows were restored by the Kuhn company.
