Built by: Marcussen & Søn (1968)
The Neue Dom in Linz was built from 1862, thanks in part to the efforts of the bishop of Linz, Rudigier. When it was 100 years ago in 1962 that the first stone was laid, it was decided to have a large organ built. The Danish firm Marcussen was awarded the contract. It is a large organ with four manuals on the west side of the church. The instrument was festively inaugurated on 7 and 8 December 1968. It has been given the name Rudigier organ, named after the bishop J.F. Rudigier, who was 'building bishop' of the church in 1862. During the opening festivities, the organ was played by Hans Haselböck, Gaston Litaize and Anton Heiller.
