- In the years 1949-1956, Victor Gonzalèz built a new main organ for Soissons Cathedral. A special feature for the construction time is that the organ is built with mechanical key action with barker machines. The register action is electric. The disposition was designed by Norbert Dufourcq and is a very conservative design for the construction period.
- On January 12, 2017, the organ was damaged because the rose window in the facade was smashed by a heavy storm.
