- The Andreaskirche in Hildesheim housed a monumental organ, built by the Bader brothers from 1667. The organ was completely destroyed in the Second World War. Plans for new construction were not made until 1960. After five organ builders had submitted a proposal, the order was given to the company Von Beckerath in 1964. They built an instrument with four manuals and pedal, that was inaugurated on January 30, 1966. The instrument has two consoles: one in the usual location, and one on the choir gallery. From this second console, only the Rückpositiv can be played. Some reeds are made after old French examples. Rudolf Utermöhlen was consultant during the project. The Hamburg architect Gustav Haake designed the organ case. The inaugurational concert was given by the organist of the church, Reinhold Brunnert.
- During an overhaul after 1990, a setzer installation with 6400 combination options was installed.
