In 1950 the company Pels & Zn. a 31-tone organ, which was placed in the Teylers Museum in Haarlem. The tone system was designed by Adriaan Fokker. The starting point is that all intermediate notes also have their own key, so that F sharp and Ges no longer sound the same, as with a normal organ, but differ, as is also possible with a violin, for example. Fokker also designed the keyboard.
The organ had been in storage at the company Pels & Van Leeuwen in 's-Hertogenbosch since 2000. After a restoration by this firm, it was installed in the BAM hall of the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ in Amsterdam in 2009. On Sunday 17 May 2009, the organ was put into use in Amsterdam with a concert by Danny de Graan.
